Tips for your Visit
Please stay home and call to reschedule if you are feeling sick the day before or day-of. Coming in sick puts all artists and clients at risk for catching that illness, not to mention will make your tattoo harder to handle and likely more uncomfortable.
Please get a good night's sleep before your tattoo and always eat before you come in.
Eating is especially important because it affects your blood sugar levels. If you are low on blood sugar, passing out becomes more likely.
General FAQs
Do I need a consultation before booking an appointment?
1
Consultations for tattoos and piercings are not necessary for appointments, but they often help the artist and client understand each other. If you would like a tattoo consultation, they are always free, please contact the shop or your desired artist.
Do you take walk-ins or only appointments?
2
We do both appointments and walk-ins. If you would like an appointment please contact the shop through phone, email, or Instagram. Calling ahead if you are planning to walk in to check wait times is recommended but not required. Please refer to our hours and be sure to check our Instagram for any live updates.
How do I book with a specific artist?
3
If you have a specific artist in mind please find their booking links through our website on our "Request an Appointment" page and fill out the form, the artist will get back to you to assist in booking. If you have questions or are unsure of who to work with, please contact us through phone, email, or Instagram and we can help you from there.
Do you require deposits for appointments?
4
Yes, all appointments require a deposit. Piercing appointments require a $10 deposit while tattoo appointments will range from $50-$100 depending on size. The deposit will be subtracted from the total price of your appointment. Deposits are non-refundable and are automatically forfeited in the case of a "no call, no show", in which the client will be required to place another deposit in order to re-book. We promise it isn't about punishment, it’s about respect and valuing the time of your artist as we value yours.
Tattoo FAQs
How old do I need to be to get a tattoo?
1
According to Massachusetts State law, you must be 18-years-old with a valid government-issued ID to get a tattoo.
2
What forms of ID do you accept?
For adults 18 years of age and over you must bring one of the following forms of government ID's: driver's license, passport, state ID card, military ID, or a permanent resident card.
How long does it take for a tattoo to heal?
Everyone heals differently, but the average tattoo takes 2 to 4 weeks to surface heal. The tattoo will feel nearly done healing as it will be completely closed on the outside and the skin will be painless and smooth to the touch, but it will still retain a shiny look to it. The tattoo is then completely healed after approximately 30 days or more depending on how your body heals and any factors that may have interrupted the healing process.
3
Can you tattoo over scars, birthmarks, or freckles?
4
Yes, most likely. It depends on a number of variables specific to each mark or scar such as, how long it's been healed, its texture, and the safety of tattooing (or piercing) that area. We will always put safety first when deciding whether or not we are willing to provide our services. That being said many healed scars, birthmarks, and freckles have been tattooed over or well incorporated successfully.
Can you cover up an existing tattoo?
Yes! Depending on the tattoo you are covering up, the new tattoo will often need to be significantly larger than the tattoo that is being covered. Please keep an open mind when coming in to talk with an artist about a cover up, they will do their best to make what you have into something you love.
5
How much do tattoos cost?
Each artist in our shop sets their own rates and prices any custom tattoo based on the perceived level of work and/or supplies required to complete said tattoo. Many artists offer flash work which is readily available and commonly ranges from about $140 for smaller pieces to $350 for larger flash work or more depending on size and placement. Our shop minimum is $100 to cover all time, supplies, and labor needed for any tattoo.
6
Often yes! Depends on the design and the artist. Please feel free to always express interest in a flash piece even if it's already been tattooed on someone else. We can usually make a new version for you!
